Shreyasi’s talk discusses the importance of diversity in childrens’ media, and how it helps combat issues like racism and promotes inclusivity. In our interconnected world, media has the unparalleled ability to reach children across the globe through TV shows and entertainment. Shreyasi believes that by diversifying childrens’ media, we ensure they grow up as empathetic individuals, contributing to a more inclusive, harmonious and equitable society.Shreyasi is a 14 year old with a profound passion for both mathematics and the arts. When she's not neck deep exploring mathematical concepts, she can be found painting her soul or losing herself in the melodies of the piano. Her artistic pursuits balance her mathematical interests by allowing her to think creatively and express her ideas in unique ways, while her love for math challenges her to think critically and analytically. Her keen interest in both these seemingly unrelated fields allows her to excel at tasks that require a blend of logical thinking and creative problem solving. She is passionate about expressing her numerous ideas, whether through artworks, music, or simply, speech. Her dedication to both her academics and her passions reflects her commitment to personal growth and contributing positively to a wider community. After completing her primary and high school education at TED Ankara College, she entered the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at METU Faculty of Architecture. She moved to Istanbul during her master's degree and entered the media world. Gürses has written many articles and books on literature and culture. She has also given speeches at various conferences and seminars on Turkish literature and culture. Gürses began her media career as a reporter at ATV News Center and later appeared on programs such as "Gece Hattı" and "Kırmızı Koltuk" on Star TV. She worked as an editor and presenter on programs such as "20. Saat", "13 Agency", "Bıldıgın Gibi Değil" and "Burası Haftasonu" on Habertürk TV. She served as assistant news director and on-screen presenter on the "Ana Haber" program on Kanal 1.
