Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy, one of the country's renowned artists, shares his uncommon journey to become a cartoonist from a completely different background, while having no proven pathway back then, he started to take it as a profession for life. In his talk, he dared the youth to take passion as a profession, which will lead them not only to success but also satisfaction by sharing his journey. Many of us succeed in our careers. But a few crave their path just like a pioneer. Syed Rashad Imam Tanmoy, a renowned Bangladeshi cartoonist and founder of “Cartoon People,” graduated in architecture from BUET. He currently works for Dhaka Tribune and serves as an assistant editor for Unmad, South Asia’s oldest satirical magazine. His contributions span Roshalo (Prothom Alo), Jaijaidin, and Bangladesh’s first TV cartoon segment, Shongbad Shondha on Desh TV. He also hosted the 18-episode series Durpath. His artwork has been featured in exhibitions like the Unmad Cartoon Exhibition 2008, *Right to Health Exhibition (SIDA), and Anticorruption Exhibition (Transparency International Bangladesh). He has received accolades such as the Editor’s Pick List Award (Himal Southasian), a Special Nomination Award (SIDA), and a Special Mention Award (Transparency International Bangladesh). Known for his bold style and impactful storytelling, Tanmoy inspires young artists and continues to shape the Bangladeshi cartooning scene.
