Elle a travaillé pour plusieurs médias prestigieux tels que TV5 Monde, France 2, France 5 et Canal+. Elle a été la première journaliste d’origine africaine à présenter le journal de TV5 Monde, et la première femme, après Bernard Pivot, Guillaume Durand et Franz-Olivier Giesbert, à animer le magazine culturel emblématique de France 2. Elle a aussi dirigé le service culture de France 24 et a été productrice sur France Culture.Écrivaine, elle a publié plusieurs ouvrages.
