Why we're all silently choking | Eva Isaacs | TEDxVail Youth

Passionate public speaker and women's health advocate Eva Isaacs exposes how our increasingly polarized discourse is silently suffocating our ability to find collaborative solutions to society's most pressing challenges. Drawing from her experiences as a junior at Vail Christian High School and competitive speech debater, Isaacs reveals how embracing nuance rather than extremes creates space for the balanced perspectives essential for meaningful progress in our divided world. With compelling insight beyond her years, she offers a revolutionary approach to conversation that creates oxygen for compromise, inviting us to breathe new life into how we communicate across differences before we collectively choke on our own rigid certainties. A current junior at Vail Christian High School, Eva Isaacs is deeply passionate about public speaking, participating in activities like Speech and Debate and Student Council. She is an avid mountain biker and has a deep passion for women’s health. After having witnessed the consequences of an ever-dividing society firsthand, she has realized the importance of acknowledging nuances within an argument to build balanced, informed perspectives with opportunities for collaborative compromise. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
