Two human bodies, a dancer and a teller, drawing a wounded room. TEDxUTokyo2024 version of 20-minute performance produced for genshi-tann’s spatial installation [Kizu-Fuka (Wound-Weathering)] which was held at Studio Kudoh, 2024. This performance started with some images — a basement stock with a collapsed ceiling, a gaze of insects, and the process of embalming. The word embalm comes from a French word embaumer (to fill with a nice smell; to smell lovely; to preserve (a dead body) from decay by treatment with spices or drugs), which derives from Latin balsamum (balsam; pleasant-smelling oil obtained from trees). Embalming involves smell — and refuses smell as well. genshi-tann interprets embalming as an act of closing wounds and striving against weathering, describing crumbling basement stock where tiny bugs crawl as a grave that holds decomposition and weathering within."The group, led by Tamao Nishiyama and Hazuki Kato, is actively engaged in unrestrained creative activities under the banner of ""Maboroshi wo Miru Monogatari"" (The Tale of Seeing the Maboroshi). Their work demonstrates a strong commitment to exploring new creative avenues and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.

During his spare time, he likes to bike and read books, including the original copies of ancient Chinese scripture. He said that it makes him feel connected with those intellects from the past. - 5:01Why language-learning is important. | Robin Wang | TEDxYouth@BIPHRobin Wang breaks down the importance of learning languages and the lasting affect it has on individuals Hi, I’m Robin Wang. I was born in Beijing, China in 2012. I enjoy history, linguistics, chess, boxing, and playing video games. My family moved to Shenzhen in 2020 and enrolled at BBSZ (Basis Bilingual School Shenzhen). Four years later, my family moved again, to Huizhou, and I started academic life in BIPH (Basis International School Park Lane Harbor). In my spare time, I like to watch documentaries and read books to unwind. Through hard work, I was also able to maintain a constant presence in the Distinguished Honor Roll in my school. This was my first time giving a Ted Talk, and I was nervous. Fortunately, my performance exceeded my expectations, and I’m grateful for it. I chose language learning as the topic for my Talk because of my profound interest in them and my recent participation in an Olympiad for Linguistics. - 6:07The Silent Crisis of Coral Reefs | Kimi Wong | TEDxYouth@BIPHIn her powerful TEDx talk, *The Silent Crisis of Coral Reefs*, Kimi Wong, a passionate and concerned student, brings attention to the alarming decline of coral reefs due to global warming. With a mix of personal fascination and deep concern, she explains how rising ocean temperatures are causing widespread coral bleaching—stripping reefs of their vibrant colors and leaving them vulnerable to death. Kimi highlights the devastating ripple effects of this loss, from collapsing marine ecosystems to threatened coastal communities that rely on reefs for protection and food. Though not a scientist, she delivers a compelling, research-backed plea for immediate action, urging everyone—from students to world leaders—to take steps against climate change before these underwater wonders vanish forever. Her talk is a reminder that you don’t need to be an expert to care deeply and fight for our planet’s future. Growing up beside the ocean, Kimi Wong sees what others miss, the silent crisis happening beneath the waves, coral bleaching. The vibrant coral reefs she had grown up looking at were her first love, but it was the documentary Chasing Coral that revealed to her what was the tragic reality. As she saw reefs fade from rainbow colors to bleach white at an accelerating rate, Kimi realized that the solution could not depend on science alone, the world needed to know.
