- 14:18Science & Traditional Feng Shui | Dr. Michael Oon | TEDxJalan PadunganNOTE FROM TED: This talk only represents the speaker’s personal views and understanding of energy and design. Several claims lack scientific support. We've flagged this talk because it falls outside the content guidelines TED gives TEDx organizers. TEDx events are independently organized by volunteers. The guidelines we give TEDx organizers are described in more detail here: http://storage.ted.com/tedx/manuals/tedx_content_guidelines.pdfCan ancient wisdom hold its place in the modern scientific world? Dr. Michael Oon bridges the gap between tradition and technology by demystifying Feng Shui—an age-old Chinese practice often misunderstood as superstition. Drawing from years of scientific training and global experience, he unveils a rational, evidence-based approach to Feng Shui, inviting us to see our environments not just as spaces we live in, but as systems that shape our energy, health, and success. Dr. Michael Oon is a unique blend of science and Chinese traditional practices, seamlessly bridging his early career as a forensic scientist with his expertise in traditional Feng Shui. With a PhD in Biochemistry and two decades of experience at New Scotland Yard, Dr. Oon excelled in forensic science by applying empirical observation and evidence-based methods. His transition to traditional Feng Shui was guided by a search for deeper understanding, leading him to train under a 14th-generation master who practises traditional Feng Shui. Dr. Oon now applies the scientific rigor from his forensic background to traditional Feng Shui, revealing its empirical roots and offering fresh insights into its modern applications.
